HOLONET: The Sith Empire

HOLONET: The Sith Empire

The goal is to rule the galaxy

The true origins of the Sith remain shrouded in secrecy. The Sith race was actually quite insignificant until three thousand years ago, the exiled Dark Jedi arrived on Korriban and subdued the Sith to themselves and their philosophy.

As the years passed, the Dark Jedi entered into marriage with those whom they ruled, and over the generations the word "Sith" acquired a different meaning. This powerful new civilization has begun its expansion, driven by a growing population of ambitious dark Force users. Fifteen centuries ago, the borders of Sith civilization reached the Republic, and the Great Hyperspace War began.

Dark Sith Lord Naga Sadow led his armies in an aggressive campaign to destroy the Galactic Republic. Although the Sith were lucky in the beginning, the Jedi Order rallied to defeat their dark "brothers", systematically destroying the Sith civilization on Korriban.

However, the Jedi never learned that the last Sith Emperor was able to escape and fled to Deep Space along with his most loyal Dark Lords.

These surviving Sith began rebuilding their society on a distant planet, hoping to return for revenge.

Over the next thousand years, the Sith Empire regained its strength. The Emperor created a massive Imperial army, a fleet of modern warships, and performed a series of dark rituals that extended his life and his unchallenged rule.

When the time came for revenge, the Sith began infiltrating star systems at the Galaxy's Edge, sowing the seeds of chaos and making secret deals with local criminals and military dictators. As the pieces of the puzzle fell into place, the Sith launched a massive offensive that caught the Jedi by surprise. In just the first wave, the Sith managed to take over several star systems on the Galaxy's Outer Rim, destroying the Republic shipyards in the Sluis sector and blocking the popular Rimma Trade Route.

After the first blow, the Emperor's ingenious strategies continued, and the overwhelming force of the Imperial War Machine swept the Republic over and over again, from the deep wells of Utapau to the high forests of Agamara. While it seemed that the Empire was capable of waging war indefinitely, the Emperor again surprised the Republic.

While the Emperor's Dark Council negotiated with the leaders of the Republic, several Sith Lords, along with elite troops of the Imperial Army, defeated the capital planet of the Republic.

After destroying the Jedi Temple and holding the planet hostage, the Sith left the leaders of the Republic no choice but to surrender and surrender several distant star systems to the Sith, signing the Treaty of Coruscant.

After signing the treaty, the Emperor handed over control to the Dark Council, and he himself took up his own mysterious affairs, thereby creating a platform for a fierce struggle for power. In a political vacuum, the strongest and most cunning Sith and leaders of the Empire began to rise to the pinnacle of power in order to seize it, gather the entire Empire together and crush its enemies.

Five Star Wars Stories We Lost

Revan, Starkiller and other characters and stories of "Star Wars", sunk into oblivion after the restart.

There are never many Star Wars. Although Disney releases a film a year, a different rule applies outside of their jurisdiction: no Star Wars at all. What is now canonical and what is not - you can find out from our guide.

Now let's remember what characters and what stories we lost after restarting the franchise and canceling the Expanded Universe.

Exile Jedi

In light of the release of Rogue One, Kyle Katarn's fate is particularly sad. He was the one who stole the Death Star blueprints! Well, okay, not only he is alone, but it still turned out awkward.

Kyle Katarn is the brightest character in the Expanded Universe after the sixth episode, who was lucky to have a whole actor (Jason Court) playing him in the commercials Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II. In the entire Jedi Knight series, they were no longer there.

Perhaps it was the directing of the cinematic inserts that helped to mold from Katarn not a faceless fighter of the forces of Light, but a memorable and controversial character.

Katarn has been teetering on the brink since his appearance on monitor screens (let's forget about the rest of the media, there he fought with an alien race from another galaxy). He studied at the imperial academy - and got involved with the rebels. He fought with the Remnants of the Empire - and he himself was tempted by the Dark Side more than once.

But fear, which is atypical for a popular hero, eventually prevailed: Kyle Katarn barely managed to defeat the Imperial Inquisitor Jerec, when he immediately renounced the Force. The Dark Side was so close to him, so strong was the thirst for revenge for his murdered father. Of course, Katarn returned to the Jedi craft - however, without much desire, he just fell in love with the players.

This, by the way, is another reason for the fragility of Kyle's image. In any part of the Jedi Knight series (Dark Forces II, Jedi Outcast) Katarn is free to resort to the skills of both the Light and the Dark side - a similar choice is typical for the games of the franchise, where Jedi skill is in principle available. In addition, Kyle was always given the chance to betray the rebellion and his teacher Skywalker by usurping power for himself.

There is even an ending in Dark Forces II where Kyle Katarn becomes the new emperor. However, this ending was non-canon before, and now it is twice non-canon

Now Kyle Katarn is another Star Wars legend. And if many other heroes who continued the epic after the death of the second Death Star are not too bad - all the sons and daughters of the Solo couple, the new Skywalkers and the resurrected Emperors - then we will miss Kyle.

Rule of two

The old trilogy did not pay attention to the nature of the Sith, but in the new (1-3 episode) Lucas tried to reveal the essence of their philosophy as much as the space opera allows to imbue with the ideas of the villains. That is, it is minimal. Therefore, one question hangs in the air: why are there only two?

And the Jedi Order has no doubt that there are exactly two of them - which turns out to be right. True, he does not see one of them under his very nose: for a thousand years, their intuition has dulled, and the struggle with the Dark Side has been replaced by petty matters, diplomacy and dirty games of the Senate.

The Expanded Universe provides a comprehensive answer. Ever since the splits in the old Jedi Order, the Sith - who didn’t know the name at the time - had formed large groups in the outer reaches of the galaxy and sought a way to crush the Republic. They invariably suffered defeats, and the results of any victories were squandered in a matter of years. Why?

The Sith philosophy is based on personal power, and any state structure, stuffed with narcissistic unscrupulous masters of the Dark Side of the Force, could not stand against the Jedi organization rallied by relative disinterestedness. How will you manage an entire army, where every lieutenant wants to slaughter a major, where no one comes to each other's rescue, where non-combat losses from backstabs are higher than from Jedi swords?

Duel between Darth Bane and his student Darth Zannah

At one time, one Sith finally understood the reason for the endless failures of his Order. Darth Bane - the main character of the eponymous book trilogy by Drew Karpishin, the author of the script for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

A thousand years before the Battle of Yavin (the starting point in the Star Wars chronology), Darth Bane, having plenty of strife among his "fellow soldiers", destroyed all other Sith except himself. Destroyed in a strictly Sith way: he convinced Lord Kaan, the lord of the Brotherhood of Darkness, to gather all the brothers in the Force and detonate a mental bomb to wipe the Jedi from the face of the planet Ruusan. He erased - both the Jedi and his colleagues.

After that, a satisfied Darth Bane took a student - the only one! - and founded a new Sith Order that no one knew about until the collapse of the Old Republic

Almost a thousand years later, Darth Sidious did fulfill the dream of the Sith and established their rule in the galaxy.

Darth Bane in The Clone Wars

Strictly speaking, Darth Bane himself did not fly out of the Canon, which is clearly delineated. But he is kept by a thread in him: he is mentioned in the novelization of the first episode, and his illusion meets Yoda in the last episode of the sixth season of the animated series The Clone Wars. The Darth Bane trilogy has become a legend.

Boardwalk Empire

In almost any piece that squeals lightsabers and people are being strangled by teletype, in one way or another the topic of organized crime is touched upon. Somewhere deep under the skyscrapers of Coruscant, in the sands of Tatooine and in the bowels of Nar Shadaa, you will find the second floor of the Star Wars universe, which sometimes sparkles with its black sheen on large screens.

Jabba the Hutt is not the sole ruler of the planet, he is a cog in a monstrous system that permeates the Galaxy

In the Expanded Universe, there are enough books, comics and other things on the theme of the underworld of the Galaxy, with which even the Jedi are powerless to fight. But only one game managed to move the camera a little further and capture the entire criminal empire, which does not care what color the lightsabers of the current rulers are.

Star Wars: Empire at War - best strategy among all that developed within the framework of the franchise, and it - funnily enough - suffered the least from the transition from Canon to Legends. Because it almost literally follows the events of the old trilogy, even if it tries to explain something in its own way (for example, how Han Solo and Chewbacca became friends). And there are also great space battles, which even outdated graphics do not harm so much, but the point is not in them.

The essence of the add-on, which was released by the developers of the original game, Petroglyph Games. In the addon, the main role went to the crime boss Tiber Zann. Mafiosi escapes from custody and returns to control his own Syndicate, uniting the best criminal minds of the Galaxy. He is employed by the assassin droid IG-88 and the money-hungry lizard Bossk - both of which you could see in Episode 5, when he and Boba Fett receive an order for the Millennium Falcon.

Hutts, thugs, smugglers, black markets of any kind - they all make up the Crime Syndicate.

Interestingly, when playing for a criminal empire, it is not necessary, and sometimes even harmful, to seize the planets by battle. No, the Syndicate is able to stand up for itself - it is armed with a lot of old but reliable equipment, converted peaceful ships, all kinds of stolen secret developments and renegades of any caliber, up to the warriors from the planet Dathomir who are sensitive to the Dark Side of the Force.

Only the open battle of criminals against the huge army of the Empire still looks tense. Therefore, the Syndicate is much more likely to take over the worlds through corruption: they secretly spread their influence, threaten and bribe, build their bridges, and then row loans straight from the pocket of the Alliance or the Empire. Only enemy heroes with their authority are able to bring order to the planet.

Alas, Tiber Zann and his Syndicate no longer match the canon of the universe. All the criminals in the war-torn Galaxy have again lost their father and home.

Secret disciple

We just discussed the Rule of Two, the core of Sith philosophy. And although we heard about his practice directly from Palpatine's lips (when he tells how he killed his teacher, albeit in the third person), in the old trilogy he does not even smell.

Of course, the emperor was still thrown into the mine by his student, but only that was no longer Darth Vader, but again Anakin Skywalker. It is logical - after all, during the creation of the old trilogy, Lucas did not share with anyone his thoughts about the nature of the Sith (if he had any with him at all). And it was worked out very poorly, which did not so much harm the artistic merit of the films.

Well, Vader never thought of chopping off his teacher's head? May be. Once, in his hearts, he promised this to Padma Amidala while she was alive, but after his defeat on Mustafar, Darth Vader no longer looked like a full-fledged Sith, eccentric and full of cruel ambitions: rather, a suppressed and half-dead cyborg.

Although Darth Vader wanted to overthrow his master, he perfectly understood his helpless position. A blind toy in the hands of the emperor - and in the Expanded Universe this sad role is revealed. It was so controversial in places, and in places wonderful action movie Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, which revealed one plan of Darth Vader. Unbeknownst to Darth Sidious, he found and raised his successor. Galen Marek - the young son of a fugitive Jedi who survived Order 66, discovered a solid potential in the Force, for which he was taken into care of by Vader.

For Marek, it all ended sadly

Once he hesitated and betrayed his mentor, went over to the side of the barely nascent resistance. Moreover, when the emperor nevertheless found out about Vader's new apprentice, he was "killed", but in fact was introduced into the highest circles of the rebels, united them and witnessed the official creation of the Rebel Alliance. What for? Because Darth Sidious himself planned the creation of the Alliance, carrying out the plan with the hands of Galen Marek. However, the latter managed to upset them, sacrificing himself and allowing the captured Alliance leadership to flee and - in the future - to destroy the emperor.

In the Ultimate Sith Edition, Galen switches to dark side and becomes Dord of the Sith

In general, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed has a sequel, but its events are no longer so significant for the history of the universe. It's a pity! After the finale of the third episode, the official canon does not reveal in any way the experiences and plans of Darth Vader, but there were enough of them. He was tormented by the ghosts of the past, suffered from depression, crushed himself with regrets about the wrong choice, about missed opportunities. Now all these stories have no place in the canon: Darth Vader is just a scary man in black armor and a cool mask.

Galaxy BC

The most successful and independent Star Wars game is deservedly considered Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. And it is valuable not only for its playing qualities: a developed role-playing system, quests, karma and others. Knights of the Old Republic looks back further than anyone else in the big media outlets of Star Wars, demonstrating the true scale of the universe in its scale.

Darth Vishate, lord of the Sith Empire who enslaved Revan and Malacca

Four thousand years before the epic film is far enough away that any threads are lost and all parallels are erased. Then the Republic was often linked in various wars with Sith alliances. But this time the Mandalorian War was going on (and that was not without the participation of the Dark Side adepts), during which two Jedi, Revan and Malak, led the fleet against the orders of the Order and brought the Republic the long-awaited victory ... and then, together with their loyal troops, they went to the Unknown regions - to finish off resistance.

There they were captured by the true enemy - the ruler of the Sith Empire, which was hiding far from the populated regions of the Galaxy.

There, their will was broken, Revan and Malak took the title "Darth" and went back to fight the Republic.

In Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Revn's face was customizable

Later, in the MMO game The Old Republic, the canon character of the hero was chosen.

The success of their campaign was largely due to the "Star Forge" - one of the oldest structures in the galaxy, capable of feeding on the energy of the star and the dark side of the Force for the production of military equipment. Thirty thousand years before the Battle of Yavin, it was built by the engineers of the Rakatan race, who ruled the galaxy several thousand years before the formation of the Republic - the Knights of the Old Republic looks so deeply into the past.

Revan's disciple and ally Darth Malak quite successfully followed the principle of "betray the teacher and seize power", although he lived three thousand years before Darth Bane

During the time that Coruscant was overgrown with the first skyscrapers, the Rakatans managed to enslave hundreds of worlds, reach the pinnacle of power and fall victim to internal strife and a general disease that easily killed the Rakatans due to the homogeneity of their genome.

"Star Forge"

Rakata

However, the game only towards the end focuses attention on deep antiquity. Its main events are devoted to how Revan, who has lost his memory, follows his own tracks, trying to find the "Star Forge", and is re-formed as a person, makes far-reaching decisions or indulges his impulses, and in the end meets with Malak again, making the most important choice In my life.

But not in the Star Wars universe - to her, Revan's story doesn't matter anymore.

In the history of any major media franchise, sooner or later, there comes a moment that changes everything. For Star Wars, it came when Disney decided to buy LucasArts. After the fateful deal, it was decided to restart the universe, making all events and characters in the Expanded Universe non-canonical.

Star wars battlefront passes through all the key events of the classic trilogy, so there is no doubt about the canonicity, but today we will talk about what was left behind and what preceded (more precisely, could precede) the events of the game and the first films. The canonicity of the Star Wars Expanded Universe has been questioned, to say the least, but this universe exists, and it was well represented in video games, and individual characters generally first appeared in them. Let's take a look at four of the most important ones.

Kyle Katarn

If you have heard about the series of games Jedi knight, then you probably know about Kyle. Our hero started as an imperial stormtrooper. Then, due to certain circumstances, he switched to the side of the rebels, worked as a mercenary, discovered the Force in himself and finally joined the Jedi Order and became a good friend of Luke Skywalker. The hero first appeared in Star Wars: Dark Forces, but most players remember him in Jedi outcast and Jedi Academy.

Kyle Katarn during his first appearance in Dark Forces and later in the Jedi Outcast.

Katarn's track record is quite long: here and the fight against various cults like the followers of Ragnos and the Dark Jedi Jerec, and espionage against the Empire (it was Katarn who stole the plans of the first Death Star, which were from Princess Leia), and participation in the war with the Yuuzhan Vong , and many many others. In general, a worthy person. We hope it will appear in future projects. By the way, one of the main characters of the seventh episode, Finn, reminds Kyle: he is also a stormtrooper who went over to the side of the enemy and discovered the Force in himself.

Revan

It would be shortsighted to think that the great personalities in the world of Star Wars only existed during the times shown in the films. Those who wield the Force reached the peak of their power just thousands of years before the Battle of Yavin IV - during the period of the Old Republic. One of the strongest and most influential Sith and Jedi of the time was Revan. As a rebel Jedi, he went against the will of the Council and fought in the Mandalorian War, which ended quickly after that.

Some time later, under the pretext of pursuing the remaining Mandalorian forces, Revan and his best friend Malak traveled to the far reaches. They returned a few years later, having already crossed to the Dark Side, and immediately unleashed a large-scale war, establishing the dominance of the Sith over the galaxy.

Well, then the plot begins Knights of the old republic: betrayal, loss of memory, wonderful return to light, happy ending. However, after that Revan begins to torment memories, and he disappears again, going in search of some mysterious threat that played a role in his transition to the dark side. This threat turns out to be the Sith Empire (more on it later).

Darth Revan and Kylo Ren from Episode 7. Find ten differences.

Once captured, Revan spends the next three hundred years in captivity, after which he is released, participates in another war, and finally reunites with the Force. Revan's legacy is hard to overestimate. The irony is that by rejecting the Dark Side and becoming a great Jedi, he had the greatest influence on the Sith: almost three thousand years later, a Dark Side adept named Darth Bane found a holocron with Revan's notes and was so impressed that he came up with “ the rule of two ”(teacher-student and constant struggle for power), which determined the development of the Sith for the millennium. The Jedi Order, in turn, has remained deaf to Revan's teachings and continues to adhere to orthodox views.

Emperor Vishate

As already mentioned, beyond the distant borders, Revan discovered the Sith Empire and went over to the dark side. But the conversion did not take place on a whim, but under the influence of a powerful and terrible entity - Emperor Vishate, the last great ruler of the Sith before the time of Palpatine.

Its history begins a thousand years before the events Knights of the old republic... The future Sith Lord named Tenebri was born on the outskirts of the planet. His mother was simple woman and his father is the Sith Lord Dreymat. As soon as he was young, the boy showed incredible sensitivity to the Force - and inhuman cruelty. After killing his parents and subjugating his native village, the boy began to conquer the surrounding lands.

At the age of thirteen, Tenebri appeared before the head of the Sith Council, Marka Ragnos, who was amazed at his "exploits", gave him a new name, Vishate, and made him his disciple. In addition, Wisheit was appointed ruler of his home planet, which he renamed Naphemu.

Well, then the Great Hyperspace War began between the Republic and the Sith Empire, which ended in the defeat of the latter. Vishayt immediately invited the entire elite of the sovereigns to Nafema under the pretext of discussing further actions. They did not expect any trick from the ruler of the provincial planet and calmly appeared.

And in vain. Vishate, being much more powerful, suppressed the will of his opponents and destroyed them.

After that, he performed a terrible ritual on Nafema: with the help of ancient magic, he drank all the Force from the planet, turning it into a piece of stone and killing millions of its inhabitants. Thus, he gained immortality and became the emperor. Gathering all the remaining Sith under his command, he intimidated them and forced them to go with him in search of a new home outside the famous galaxy. The final coordinates were already known to him, but Wishate chose to hide them, stretching the fleet's journey for decades and forcing all the Sith to worship him as a god.

They eventually made it to the planet Dromund Kaas, where they hid for a thousand years, building up their power. Later, Jedi Revan will find the planet and meet with the emperor. The power of that will be so great that Revan will turn into a soulless puppet in the hands of the monster and turn to the dark side.

Nearly three hundred years later, the Empire emerged from the shadows and dealt a devastating blow to the Republic, establishing a Sith dictatorship for many years. Wishait himself at this time stepped down from power to pursue his secret projects. As a result, the Republic still managed to fight back and, with the assistance of the Jedi Order, destroyed the physical shell of the emperor. However, his spirit survived and for a long time moved from one body to another (Palpatine would later do the same), bringing a lot of troubles to the distant, distant galaxy.

Revan and Malak first meet with the emperor.

Galen Marek

A headache for any Star Wars connoisseur, the character is so strange and illogical that questions about his canonicity were held long before the cancellation of the Expanded Universe.

Galen was born on Kashyyyk in a family of two Jedi - Molly and Kento Marek. After the boy's mother died on a mission, the father took over the upbringing of his son. Then the infamous Purge (Great Jedi Extermination) began, during which Darth Vader personally led an attack on Kashyyyk to kill Kento. However, after the battle, the sword brought by Vader over the head of the enemy was torn from his hands. This is how the Sith Lord discovered Galen's incredible potential. However, this did not save the elder Marek.

Having eliminated all the witnesses, Vader took the boy off the planet, made him his secret apprentice and awarded him a new name - Starkiller (so, by the way, Luke Skywalker was supposed to be called in the original version of the New Hope scenario). He had the most far-reaching plans - with the help of Marek, to kill Emperor Palpatine and seize power (remember the "rule of two"?).

But everything, as always, went awry. Like many young men, Starkiller managed to fall in love with his partner - the pilot Juno Eclipse. Well, then came the throwing, doubts about the teacher's words about the power of the dark side and, finally, the transition to the light side. As a result, Galen betrayed Vader, founded a rebel movement and led it (you already have fan indignation seething?). No wonder the famous insurgent emblem is the coat of arms of the Marek family.

Vader and the emperor discovered the conspirators and nearly killed them all. To save his friends, Starkiller had to sacrifice his life. Oh yes, not long before that, he dropped it on the planet with the help of the Force " star destroyer". This is if you suddenly have not yet understood what is wrong with the character.

In the second part, Galen (or rather, his clone) acquired a second lightsaber.

And in The force unleashed 2 it turned out that Vader managed to clone Galen, but this is a completely different (and not really finished) story - moreover, unlike many others, it deserves to sink into oblivion.

Emperors are heard these days. Former Emperor of Japan Akihito celebrated his birthday yesterday, but that's another thing - in the ninth episode of Star Wars, Palpatine himself returned. You probably already know all the most important things about him from the films, so here are not the most famous facts about him. And only the canonical ones - we will not touch the canceled events from the old expanded universe. Read and once again be amazed at the cruelty and prudence of the Emperor of the First Galactic Empire!

Palpatine spent his life enforcing Darth Plagueis's plan.

Plagueis the Wise is Palpatine's teacher who the future Emperor tells Anakin Skywalker about in Revenge of the Sith. Palpatine and Plagueis studied the nature of force together, trying to find the secret of immortality - and the Emperor's teacher succeeded. But their main goal was the destruction of the Republic and the creation of a single Sith empire in the galaxy. In the end, Palpatine killed Plagueis in his sleep, since he did not want to share power with anyone, but he did not abandon his teacher's plan.

There is still a popular theory among Star Wars fans that it was Plagueis' research that led to Anakin's birth. Say, either Palpatine, or Plagueis himself, with the help of force, conceived Skywalker in the body of an ordinary woman. The Sith believed that he would finally shift the balance of power into darkness.

Darth Plagueis gained such power that he was afraid of only one thing - to lose power, which, of course, happened. Unfortunately, he taught his student everything he knew himself, and he killed him while the teacher was sleeping. It's funny - he saved others from death, but he could not

Palpatine met Wilhuff Tarkin, the future Grand Moff, one of the Empire's toughest warlords while he was still a Republican cadet.

Palpatine helped him get into the judicial department and later helped Tarkin with his political career. Ultimately, Tarkin became the governor of his home planet Eridu and brought it to prosperity. During the Clone Wars, he was one of the key warlords of the Republic and more than once proved himself to be a very cruel person. His relationship with the future Emperor over time became confidential and friendly. In the novel Tarkin, it is revealed that Wilhuff was one of the few who Emperor Shiv Palpatine allowed to refer to himself by name. Tarkin was the initiator of a number of secret projects for the Empire, including the Death Star. On board, the Grand Moff was killed.

The security forces will soon drive the pirates out of the sector, and then what will you do? There are much more serious battles, cadet. When you graduate from the academy, why don't you visit me on Coruscant?

Palpatine had a long and difficult relationship with Darth Maul - before and after the events featured in The Phantom Menace.

Maul was a Zabrak, the son of Talzin, a witch from the planet Dathomir. Palpatine got him as an apprentice when he was just a child. The Emperor brutally educated and trained Maul, cultivated hatred in him and instilled in him that his destiny was to overthrow the Jedi Order. For a long time, Maul remained in the shadows, which annoyed him pretty much. However, as we know, in the battle with Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon, the Zabrak was cut in half, and Palpatine eventually took on a new apprentice - Count Dooku. Maul's Sith career short? But no!

Maul's story of defeating Obi-Wan was not over. He miraculously survived and was eventually rescued by his own brother Savage Opress. Together they have done a lot of things, for example, started a civil war on Mandalore. It was then that Maul again met with Palpatine, who had just arrived at the royal palace. The emperor immediately realized that Maul was no longer an ally to him. During the battle, Savage was killed, and Maul himself was captured. As a result, he, of course, managed to escape, but before that he was tortured and interrogated for a long time. Years later, Maul was still killed, but not by the Emperor, but by Obi-Wan on Tatooine.

You are my student, Like, and one day you can become my follower. But if it is intended that way, then this will happen only after countless trials, in comparison with which your present hardships will seem absolutely insignificant.

Palpatine ordered to equip all the soldiers of the clone army with biochips.

Thanks to these chips, Order 66 was put into effect. In the film and other works, you can see that many clones became friends with the Jedi, but still, without flinching, they followed the order. Such scenes can be observed even in the fresh game Fallen Order. The sight is heartbreaking, but the clones could not resist the signals of the chips.

The existence of these biochips was nearly revealed due to an accident. On one of the missions for the clone under the call sign "Hammerhead", the order was activated ahead of time... As a result, Maul killed the Jedi Master. The clone was taken to Kamino, where the chip was found on him. However, Palpatine was ultimately able to cover his tracks and eliminate everyone involved. Because of this incident, his entire plan to seize power in the galaxy hung in the balance.

Commander Cody, now the time has come. Execute Order 66.

Palpatine visited Jakku during the time of the Republic, and later built a secret observatory there.

Jakku is a desolate dump planet where the heroine of the new trilogy, Ray, lived. Palpatine first arrived on Jakku thirty years before the Battle of Yavin IV. On the planet, he left a group of droids, who secretly set about drilling the planet and building an observatory to store Sith artifacts. In the end, we drilled all the way to the very core - and for a reason.

Palpatine left the local boy Galli to oversee the construction process, who out of curiosity made his way to the yacht of the future emperor. The kid had a modest choice - serve or die. Later, this boy will be named Gallius Rex and will assist the Emperor in the implementation of the Extreme Measures plan, which Palpatine developed in case of his death. The implementation of this plan will eventually lead to the creation of the "First Order". We'll talk more about this later.

To understand the great mystery, you need to study all its aspects. Not just a dogmatic narrow view of the Jedi. If you want to become a wise leader, you must take a broader view of the Force.

Palpatine kidnapped Jabba the Hutt's son, Rotta.

Not personally, of course. He gave the order to kidnap the child to Dooku. The operation was organized during the Clone Wars, which the future Emperor himself directed and completely controlled from all sides. Thus, Palpatine wanted to set up a Hutt crime syndicate against the Jedi, but in the end his plan failed. Rotta was returned to his father. What surprises in this story is not so much the abduction as the very fact that Jabba had a son.

Soon the Jedi will fight not only with you, Count, but also with the Hutt clan.

Palpatine rebuilt the Jedi Temple into the Imperial Palace.

The center of his reign, Palpatine made the former Jedi Temple on Coruscant - once the heart of the entire order. In the course of the reconstruction from the old temple, however, there was almost nothing left except for the spiers. You might think that there is an irony in this - the Temple becomes the center of a military dictatorship. But in fact, even during the time of the Republic, many military operations were discussed precisely in the Jedi Temple, since the Jedi themselves stood at the head of the Republican army.

Most interestingly, the Jedi Temple was originally built on the foundations of an ancient Sith shrine. Now the irony is real. The shrine was destroyed, but the dark energy in its foundation remained. For hundreds of years, she poisoned the Jedi and in many ways helped Palpatine in achieving his plans.

The dark side of the Force is the road to multiple abilities. Some are considered unnatural.

Palpatine created the Inquisitorium for the ultimate extermination of the Jedi.

While the clones did a pretty good job of exterminating the Jedi during Order 66, some escaped. Largely thanks to Obi-Wan Kenobi, who managed to send a distress signal across the galaxy. To finish off the order, the Emperor finally created the Inquisitorium. It was originally based in a former secret Sith hideout on Coruscant, but was then transported to a distant planet.

Inquisitors, Jedi hunters were actually former Jedi. So the former temple guardian of the Order became the high inquisitor. And some Jedi Masters have joined the organization. Everyone had their own reasons for switching to the dark side - in the last years of the Order's existence, many of its own followers have become increasingly disappointing. However, Palpatine's intimidation and manipulation skills in this matter are also worth considering.

Later, the leadership of the Inquisitorium was carried out personally by Darth Vader. Over time, the organization's responsibilities also included finding and kidnapping power-sensitive children. How tough and effective the Inquisitorium worked can be seen in the fresh game.

Now all Jedi, including your friend Obi-Wan Kenobi, are considered enemies of the Republic ... Do what you must, Lord Vader. No doubt, no mercy.

Palpatine constantly mocked Darth Vader.

Vader received his first punishment as soon as he woke up in the guise of a cyborg. Upon learning of Padmé's death, he in a rage pressed Palpatine to the wall with force, and when he let go, he instantly caught a lightning bolt of power. The emperor promised to kill the Sith if he raised a hand against him again.

Palpatine constantly challenged Vader and tested his loyalty. He refused to give the Sith a new lightsaber to replace the one he had lost in his duel with Obi-Wan. Vader had to track down the surviving Jedi and obtain new weapons in battle. He emerged from the battle pretty shabby and Palpatine forced him to personally restore his own armor. And when the first assassination attempt was made on Vader, Palpatine refused to help him in finding the culprits. There are a lot of such examples.

The emperor kept a lot of things secret from his pupil. He also believed that Vader's strength was in the pain he carried with him because of the death of his beloved and sought to nourish this pain. On one occasion, he even gave Vader a yacht that belonged to Padmé. And after the destruction of the Death Star, Palpatine demoted Vader and sent him under General Tagge, which was humiliating for the Sith. Palpatine skillfully pretended to be Anakin Skywalker's friend, but Darth Vader became for him just another tool that would eventually have to be replaced.

Do not forget who is the teacher and who is the student. You are obliged to find out what is known to me. And I must teach you what you need to know.

Palpatine ordered that the remnants of the Empire be destroyed after his death - along with his enemies.

Palpatine was a vain, confident Sith, but also damn smart. He was determined to destroy the resistance, but still foresaw all possible outcomes of the war with the rebels. In that power, own death and the collapse of the Empire at the Battle of Endor, which we saw in Return of the Jedi. Palpatine developed at least two secret protocols: the already mentioned "Extreme Measures" and Operation Ashes (also translated as "Ash").

Both plans in a general sense boiled down not only to the extermination of the enemies of the Emperor, but also to the destruction of the remnants of the Empire itself from within. Because there can no longer be an Empire without an Emperor. An elementary chess analogy - if the king is no longer there, then there is no more sense in the rest of the pieces, all that remains is to clear the board completely. For a new game.

Operation Ashes, in particular, involved the destruction of a number of planets using climate weapons. After the death of the Emperor, pre-trained droids went to the most loyal officers of the Empire and initiated them into the plan. Among the targets of the "Ashes" were the worlds loyal to the Empire, and even the homeland of Palpatine Naboo. Making a safe route to unexplored sectors of the galaxy and building the First Order there is also part of the plan.

All these cunning schemes eventually led to the Battle of Jakku. The aftermath of this battle can be seen in The Force Awakens. This was the final clash between the remnants of the Empire and the forces of the New Republic, but it was not what it seems. In general terms, the Emperor's plan was to draw as many Republican forces into battle as possible. But while they were fighting the Empire, at the observatory, energy from a powerful Sith artifact was pumped into the core of the planet. As a result, Jakku was supposed to explode along with the Imperials and the Republican fleet. This part of the plan collapsed due to the intervention of Imperial Officer Ray Sloan. But she eventually found in the Observatory the coordinates of Palpatine's flagship, the Eclipse, hidden in an unexplored sector. This is how the First Order began.

Amazing, isn't it? You can take possession of the entire galaxy, but not the minds of people.
